Former student Steve Bagatourian's script AMERICAN GUN was produced in 2004 starring Forrest Whitaker and Marcia Gay Harden, and was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards. His film HEARTS OF MEN was developed with Tim and recently purchased by Mandalay Entertainment.
Former student Dave Johnson sold his pitch "Man Wedding" to New Regency. He also sold his pitch "Sweet Child of Mine" to Paramount, and an untitled comedy pitch to 20th Century Fox. Dave was also a writer on the TV show "Jake 2.0".
Kelly Kennemer (UCLA class) sold his script REWIND to Wendy Finerman and also wrote THE MUSIC WITHIN starring Ron Livingston.
Scott Kosar's film, THE MACHINIST, (written in Tim's UCLA class) premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. The film stars Christian Bale and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It was directed by Brad Anderson (NEXT STOP WONDERLAND). Scott also wrote the remakes of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE AMITYVILLE HORROR for producer/director Michael Bay.
Cindy McCreery (UCLA class) sold her screenplay "Soccer Mom" to New Line Cinema. She also sold her pitch "The Powder Puff Girls" to Disney, and her script "Maria Pepe" to Nickelodeon. Cindy has written "Free Willy 4" for Warner Bros. and a remake of "Baby Boom" for MGM.
Tim's former UCLA student Jason Nutt sold WEDDING RINGS AND G-STRINGS to Fortress Features. Script was written in a private workshop led by Tim.
Jennifer O'Kieffe, a former student from UCI as well as UCLA, won the prestigious Goldwyn Award in 2008 for her script SEX AND SYLVIA PLATH. John Madden (SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE) has signed on to direct. She will also write the script for director Nikolaj Arcel's remake for Universal of his 2007 Norwegian hit "De fortabte sjaeles o," which will be re-titled ISLAND OF LOST SOULS.
